In addition to window tinting, Solar Sentinel offers XPEL Paint Protection Film (PPF) — a clear thermoplastic urethane film applied to your vehicle’s painted surfaces to protect against rock chips, road debris, scratches, and environmental contaminants.
XPEL PPF features self-healing technology — minor surface scratches disappear with heat exposure. It maintains a high-gloss, optically clear finish that preserves your vehicle’s appearance while providing a durable protective layer that traditional wax and ceramic coatings cannot match.
- Self-healing surface — minor scratches disappear with heat
- Excellent chemical resistance against fuel, bugs, and road grime
- High gloss finish — maintains factory paint appearance
- Hydrophobic surface — water beads and rolls off
- Excellent optical clarity — virtually invisible protection
Contact Solar Sentinel to discuss PPF coverage options for your vehicle — full front end, full vehicle, or custom coverage areas.

Window Tint Laws — Tennessee & Florida
Solar Sentinel installs all automotive window tint in full compliance with state law at both locations. Here’s what you need to know before your appointment:
Tennessee Window Tint Laws
- Front side windows: Must allow 35% or more visible light transmission (VLT)
- Rear side windows (sedans): Must allow 35% or more VLT
- Rear windshield: Must allow 35% or more VLT
- SUVs and vans: Rear side and rear windows may be any shade
- Reflectivity: Cannot be more reflective than a standard window
We’ll advise you on the legal options for your specific vehicle and help you choose the right shade for both compliance and performance.
Florida Window Tint Laws
- Front side windows: Must allow 28% or more VLT
- Rear side windows: Any shade on non-commercial vehicles
- Rear windshield: Any shade — must have dual side mirrors if tinted
- Reflectivity: No more than 25% reflective on front side windows
Florida law is more permissive on rear glass than Tennessee, giving Palm Coast customers more flexibility on shade selection for the back of the vehicle.
Automotive Window Tinting — Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does Solar Sentinel cut window film on the glass?
A: No. Solar Sentinel uses computer-generated, precision-cut film patterns specific to each vehicle’s make and model. No blade ever touches your glass, eliminating the risk of scratches and ensuring a perfect fit every time.
Q: How long does automotive window tinting take?
A: Most automotive window tinting appointments at Solar Sentinel take 2–4 hours depending on vehicle size and the number of windows being tinted. We’ll give you a specific estimate when you schedule. Windows should stay up for 24–48 hours after installation while the film cures.
Q: What automotive window tint warranty does Solar Sentinel offer?
A: All XPEL automotive window film installed by Solar Sentinel includes a lifetime, nationwide warranty covering peeling, bubbling, color change, and delamination for the life of your vehicle.
Q: Is XPEL automotive film safe for cars with rear defrosters and heated windows?
A: Yes. XPEL’s nano-ceramic film is non-metallic and does not interfere with rear defrosters, heated windows, GPS systems, satellite radio, or any in-vehicle electronics. This is a significant advantage over older metallic tint films.
